Good portion size, used to be smaller. Decent prices and friendly staffs. Quite a few customers but usually not packed and there's usually always still empty spots for you to sit and eat inside. Clean and a restroom on the left side. A few different options and I prefer my poke bowl without sauce as the seafood are all mixed with sauce already. My friend loves the sauce though. The ingredients used to be just okay and sometimes not so great but this time around it's fresh and I really enjoyed it. Would recommend
really enjoyed my poke meal here. reminiscent of my favorite spots in houston without the new york prices. i left full without feeling weighed down or dropping a ridiculous amount of money. inside is clean and has plenty of seating for you and your friends. I mixed half rice and half salad greens as my bowl base for some crunchiness! my only gripe is that they use HOT rice, and it doesn't taste exactly like sushi grade rice. Other than that, the rest of the bowl was great.
When I'm in the mood for a healthy yet protein packed meal, poke is often my go to. Pokespot in Union Square definitely delivers on their poke bowl promise as the fish is one of the freshest I've had in the area and they offer unlimited toppings so you can easily make an overflowing bowl that's certain to satisfy even the hungriest individual. The restaurant is cashless to make sure to have your card handy!
I love coming here when I want a cool, relaxed meal. Perfect for summer days. Sometimes I pick their suggested bowls but sometimes I make my own. They have a water fountain off to the left along with utensils and napkins. There's a bathroom as well but you need to ask for the code (unless someone is already using it). The food is fresh and I've never had a problem with it!
I came here after meeting up with a couple ladies for a midday post-work run. We were in the area, shopping for athletic gear and before heading back home I wanted to get some food because I was already getting the post-run shakes and didn't want to get depleted. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean and luckily for us they weren't too busy. I ordered brown rice bowl with three proteins and opted for two parts salmon, one part tuna. They are quite generous with the add-ins and they offer a nice variety of items as well as some tasty sauces. As per usual, the price is pretty hefty, the more items you add but it's definitely worth it for me since one bowl is usually a two meal event. This was definitely not my fave Poké spot but they're definitely a good contender. I would definitely go back. Well, maybe it a few months...
I am obsessed with Poke bowls now. So good, so fresh, and so healthy. You have the ability to customize and choose what goes in your bowl, from a base of zoodled zucchini, brown rice, salad and proteins such as salmon and tuna or shrimp. Plenty of toppings such as cucumber, edamame, onion crisps, etc, along with a bunch of sauces. Pretty tasty overall. The bowls are hearty and they do not skimp here. It's more than enough for a satisfying meal. The staff moves along the line pretty quickly, and lets you pick and choose whatever your palate desires. Overall, friendly and helpful staff. Decently priced. Clean place. One unisex bathroom. Not a ton of seating though. Had to hover like an old lady stalking a slot machine at a casino. Got my seat after a few minutes as people here seem to eat and run. They also have a small assortment of cold drinks, plus a few beers on tap too. Very nifty, indeed.
In New York City, there will be a few new food trend or craze that comes up to steal the spotlight from the ones from previous year. Poké is one of them that is getting lots of attention, and new Poké eateries opening up every day. I visited this spot twice so far. I went there during the weekday around 1pm. It was very busy with long line. The interior was long and a bit narrow. The line goes all the way to the back, it is tricky to get to a table even if you can find an empty table. I got in the long line, and waited my turn. even though there were lots of people in line, it moved at a good speed. Once I got to the front of the line, I saw the staffs working at a speed of light. They have a nice assembly line, each staff responsible for their station. At my first visit, I orderd PokéSpot Special. Once I told the first staff in line what I wanted, it just moved down the line from there, really fast. I must say, the bowl looked very different from their photo, which had so much more ingredients. I felt like the quantity suffered for their speed. I appreciate the speed, but I would prefer to wait a little longer to get a better, more filled bowl. On my second visit, I ordered Spicy Ponzu Tuna. I wanted seaweed salad added onto the bowl, and the staff added in for me with no charge! The assembly line moved a bit slower on this day, allowing the staff to take a little more time to make the bowl. I feel like it had more ingredients than the previous time. Both visit, the quality was super high, and I really enjoyed their Poke very much. I can see the reason why Poké is so popular. It is delicious, affordable, filling, and I would say they are much healthier than some other food options out there. I would definitely go back for more.
This poke spot is my new favorite in Manhattan! It's a great location in between Union Square and NYU, and when I compared the prices to places like Sweetgreen, this place wins every time. You can make it a salad with lettuce or add white or brown rice. They have set bowls you can get, or you can build your own with a set amount of protein I think (I got tuna and salmon) and a variety of other toppings including seaweed, avocado (extra), and other veggies and seasonings. The service was fairly good. Lots of friendly Asian faces smiling and I understood why when the lunch crowd came in!
Busy, busy, busy. NYU college students make sure this place is always packed. I went on a Tuesday evening at 8 and was lucky to find one table available. I built my own poke, and got brown rice w/ tuna & salmon, all mix inns and toppings (no cilantro), with sesame shoyu sauce ($10.95). It was one of the better pokes I've had in the neighborhood. The salmon was more flavorful than the tuna, which did t have much of a taste. The toppings were plentiful, and the rice sizable. I wish I had chosen a different sauce, though, as the sesame shoyu had no taste. Will go again.
